Clients Benefit from Culinary Excellence Award Challenge
Boston Culinary Group managers continue to find innovative ways to advance the company’s culinary capabilities, and the winners of this year’s Culinary Excellence Award confirm that. The goal of the competition is to take the services we provide to our clients and guests to a higher level - by instituting a new policy, program or menu item, or creating and executing an important or unique event. The year-long competition concluded with the announcement of the winners at the annual awards banquet during the 2006 National Meeting.

Sea Stars – In the Kitchen
with the Aquarium's Executive Chef: George Kierstead
In a word, George Kierstead is motivated.
He’s not a guy that sits around waiting for
things to happen, nor does he necessarily
covet peace and quiet. This bodes well
for him, since running the kitchen for the
Aquarium’s Harbor View Café as well as
its hectic banquets and events isn’t exactly
a tranquil job. With masses of hungry mouths
to feed and excellent impressions to be
made, this New England native juggles a
lot, and he does it by maintaining his love
for food…and his love of a challenge.

Celebrate Sustainable Seafood
The Aquarium is committed to ensuring that
we will always be able to enjoy beautiful fish
in our exhibits as well as tasty seafood on
our plates. Dozens of aquarists work daily
to keep our resident fish and other sea
creatures as healthy as possible. The
Aquarium’s Sustainable Fisheries Initiative
(SFI), on the other hand, is dedicated to the
continuing health and survival of wild populations
of fish and other types of seafood. SFI,
a program within the Aquarium’s conservation
department, promotes sustainable fisheries
and serves as a resource for fishery
information.
